چکیده

In this paper channel assignment in ad hoc network using by channel impulse response is described. The distribution of channel impulse response is appropriate for the estimation of two propagation components (LOS – Line-of-Sight, NLOS – NonLine-of-Sight). The Rician factor K, represents the type of distribution, namely LOS component has Rician distribution and NLOS component has Rayleigh distribution. Value of Rician factor K depends on the bit error rate (BER). The goal of simulation is to shown the impact of various radio channel types on BER value which can be appropriate method for channel assignment in ad hoc network.

Simple Channel Assignment Strategies for Multiple Channel Ad Hoc Networks

Previous studies by the author examined the feasibility of applying channel changing strategies in ad hoc networks, with varying degrees of mobility, as a means to improve total system throughput and individual flow throughput, as well as to reduce network congestion. These studies presented several heuristic methods that allowed a greatly improved performance to be delivered per network flow. ...

Ant Colony Optimization for Channel Assignment Problem in a Clustered Mobile Ad Hoc Network

This paper presents an ant colony optimization (ACO) method as a method for channel assignment in a mobile ad hoc network (MANET), where achieving high spectral efficiency necessitates an efficient channel assignment. The suggested algorithm is intended for graph-coloring problems and it is specifically tweaked to the channel assignment problem in MANET with a clustered network topology. A mult...

Comparing RLS and LMS adaptive equalizers for nonstationary wireless channels in mobile ad hoc networks

This paper compares performance of finite impulse response (FIR) adaptive linear equalizers based on the recursive least-squares (RLS) and least mean square (LMS) algorithms in nonstationary uncorrelated scattering wireless channels. Simulation results, in terms of steady-state mean-square estimation error (MSE) and average bit-error rate (BER) metrics, are found for the frequency-selective Ray...

On-demand routing and channel assignment in multi-channel mobile ad hoc networks

The capacity of mobile ad hoc networks is constrained by the intra-flow interference introduced by adjacent nodes on the same path, and inter-flow interference generated by nodes from neighboring paths. By assigning orthogonal channels to neighboring nodes, one can minimize both types of interferences and allow concurrent transmissions within the neighborhood, thus improving the throughput and ...

Optimal channel assignment with aggregation in multi-channel systems: A resilient approach to adjacent-channel interference

Channel assignment mechanisms in multi-channel wireless networks are often designed without accounting for adjacent-channel interference (ACI). To prevent such interference between different users in a network, guard-bands (GBs) are needed. Introducing GBs has significant impact on spectrum efficiency. In this paper, we present channel assignment mechanisms that aim at maximizing the spectrum e...
